FAQ - MediaFACEonline
How can I import a project created in MediaFACE 4/5 into MediaFACEonline?

If you are unable to access your MediaFACE4/5 files and perform the operations listed below, send an email to mfprojects@neato.com.

While MediaFACEonline cannot read a MediaFACE 4/5 project or file, you can export a MediaFACE4/5 file in .jpg format and import it into MediaFACEonline by following the steps below:

Exporting your MediaFACE 4/5 design as a .jpg file

  1. Open your design in MediaFACE 4/5
  2. Go to Tools > Export to view the “Export Options” window
  3. Choose “.JPEG” as the file format
  4. Choose “300 dpi” as the resolution
  5. Where it reads “Default Location” choose the target folder you wish to save the exported design in
  6. Name the file where it reads “Target File Name”
  7. Click on “Export”
  8. After the export of your design has been completed, you will see a message that reads “The project has been exported into folder (folder name you choose will be displayed here)”. Click OK and close MediaFACE 4/5

NOTE: MediaFACEonline can only import files that are 8MB and smaller. If after exporting your design in MediaFACE 4/5, you notice the file size is larger than 8MB, choose a lower resolution (150 or 72 dpi) to decrease the file size

Importing the .jpg file into MediaFACEonline

  1. Go to www.mediaface.com and choose the template you wish to use
  2. Once the template is open, choose the label you wish to place your design in
  3. Click “Insert Image” on the left nav/menu bar
  4. Click “Upload Image”
  5. When the “Upload Window” appears, navigate to the folder where your exported .jpg file resides (see above steps if you haven’t exported your file yet)
  6. Choose the exported .jpg file and click “Open”
  7. By default, any image placed on a label will be in a thumbnail format. To fill the entire label with your exported design, select “Fit to Label” on the left nav/menu bar.
  8. Your exported project will now fill the entire label.
NOTE: If you intend to print this project again in the future, we advise you to click on “Save Design.” This will save your project as a MediaFACEonline file and you will not have to go through the export process in MediaFACE 4/5 the next time you want to print it.
  9. Click on the “Preview & Print” tab to begin printing.
